Aramid fiber, a class of synthetic polymer known for its exceptional strength and heat resistance, has become a cornerstone material for advanced reinforcement across diverse industries. Chemically, aramids are characterized by long molecular chains of polyamide where at least 85% of the amide bonds are directly connected to two aromatic rings. This rigid, rod-like structure is the source of their remarkable properties, most famously demonstrated in products like DuPont’s Kevlar® and Twaron®.

This unique combination makes them indispensable in aerospace for lightweight components, in ballistic protection for body armor and vehicle armor, and in the automotive industry for strengthening tires, hoses, and brake pads.
